Shopping for Waterbed Sheets

As you know by now, waterbeds are great beds to have. But you need waterbed sheets to cover that bed of yours. And not just any kind of sheet either. I don't need to go into too much detail about buying a waterbed because if you're reading this, you've probably already bought one.

My goal is to help you sort out what is actually out there on the market or whether you can shop online for the incredible deals on waterbed sheets. And these sheets are not something that you want to skimp on. Remember you've paid quite a bit of money for a waterbed, so why be chintzy on something that will lay next to your skin and keep you from feeling the rougher exterior of the waterbed? I can't think of a reason.

Waterbed sheets (and fitted sheets) come in Thread Count or TC. As a general rule of thumb, if a thread count is high, it is a better quality of sheet than a sheet with a low thread count. You want to go with the higher TC when possible.

And of course, the higher the thread count, the more expensive the sheet will be. But again, those extra few dollars are worth it in the long run.

Enough of what you already knew, what's out there?

Linen Sheets

These are your garden variety, every day sheets. You'd put these on your waterbed on pretty much every day of the Summer, Fall, and Spring. You can't go wrong by purchasing a few sets of these sheets as you'll always fall back on them when the Satin, Silk, Chenille, and Flannel sheets no longer work for you.

When they're on sale, buy a few sets because fitted sheets of all varieties tend to be pricey for what you get. They're certainly necessary for comfort against the waterbed, but they can put a small dent in your wallet each time.

Flannel Sheets

These are for cold cold weather. You touch the sheet with your cold feet and immediately start to warm them up. You cannot live without a flannel sheet in colder climates during the winter months!

Those who live in the South need not be too concerned with flannel sheets. They've got the snakes and alligators and a kazillion bugs to contend with.

I'll take the cold, thank you very much.

Satin Sheets

These are close to silk sheets but probably considerably less expensive. These sheets speak loudly the romance language. They are perfect for the warm summer evenings when the mercury is topping out.

Satin Sheets are smooth to the touch and just feel right. You and your mate will love the feel and warmth of satin sheets.
